These ladders are mainly home and DIY Step Ladders which are suitable for use around the home. Our extensive range of Step Ladders come with various tread and class options and are available in either Aluminium, Fibreglass or Timber. Step ladders generally fall into one of two categories, platform step ladders and swingback step ladders, also known as builders step ladders. As the name suggests, platform step ladders have a large platform at the top of the ladder and make working at height comfortable and safe. Swingback steps do not feature a platform at the top and are very popular with builders and painters, who need to move the ladder frequently and need to work at a range of heights. Painters steps are light and easy to transport, will fit into the back of a van. We also offer a range of fibreglass step ladders, suitable for use where electrical conductivity of aluminium is a problem, such as for electricians.

The size of step ladders can often cause a bit of confusion. The number of treads or steps that a ladder has includes the top tread or platform, so for example a 6 tread platform step ladder has 5 treads and the platform at the top, while a 6 tread swingback step ladder has 5 treads that can be stood on plus the very top of the ladder. All of our products show the number of treads and the top-tread height so you can work out which ladder will be most suitable for the space you have.
